KATALYSTI
The name Katalysti has two meanings: “catalyst” participates in a reaction and accelerates it without being consumed in the reaction itself, and the ending “lysti” ("fun" in Finnish) refers to the fact that even major reforms are best achieved when a way forward is created through positivity and possibilities. Katalysti Oy was founded in 2010.
The Katalysti is also Vesa Ilmarinen, the founder and owner of the company. Vesa:
-
has worked as a hands-on consultant, project manager and in the management of consulting businesses over his 30-year career
-
has helped dozens of companies in various industries such as trade, industry, telecom, healthcare, finance and insurance, tourism and energy, real estate and construction
-
Special expertise: digitalization, sustainability, service design and commercialization

Example of a knowledge model in the real estate sector in the joint industry project #kiraESRS
Katalysti has developed a structured information model together with Finreim to manage EU sustainability reporting requirements in accordance with the ESRS standard. The information model has, among other things, implemented a common definition for the Finnish real estate sector. The information model can also be used in preparing for sustainability reporting in other industries or individual companies.
Description of the sustainability context and value chain
Sustainability topics according to ESRS
Dual materiality analysis
Disclosure requirements under ESRS
Data points
The advantage of an independent ESRS data model is that the customer does not have to commit to a single program or service provider.
Vesa is also the second author of “ Digitalization – a business management manual ” (Talentum).
-
The book helps business leaders understand the opportunities of digitalization, find methods that are suitable for their own business, and lead change in their own company.
-
In the book, digitalization is broken down into three business logics: more / less / new money.
-
The book is based on the authors' own experiences in implementing digitalization projects.
-
The book contains over 50 Finnish case examples of digitalization.
The book is available for sale, among others, in the Alma Talent Shop online store.
